How to Apply for an Ed Choice Scholarship

If a student is eligible for the Ed Choice Scholarship..

The first step is to apply for admission at a private participating school.

Application Period is February 1- April 18, 2008

Visit or call private schools to register

Eligible students must apply and be accepted into a private school before April 18, 2008 in order to be considered for a scholarship. Parents of eligible students should start now with the process of choosing a private school.

Once the student is registered at the private school, the school will apply for the Ohio Ed Choice Scholarship on the child’s behalf with the Ohio Dept. of Education.

Find a great school for your child

Choose the right private school for your child that will meet his or her needs. Most private schools have an application fee not covered by the scholarship, but often you can work out a payment plan.

There are often papers that parents will need to bring with them to the private school when they apply. We suggest that parents visit schools that they are interested in having their child attend. Ask the school before visiting what records they may need to register your student.

Frequently required papers are:
  • child's birth certificate
  • copy of child's report card
  • proof of family address
  • proof of guardianship if applicable.

All children deserve a quality education. The Children's Scholarship Fund of Greater Cincinnati has been in the business of promoting school choice opportunities for families since 1999. We believe that all parents, regardless of income, should have the right to choose the school that they want their children to attend.

"CSF Cincinnati heartily endorses the Ohio Ed Choice Scholarship Program. We believe that it goes a long way toward removing the barriers to quality education for all families."
