CSF Cincinnati supports giving parents the power to choose the best school for their child. Typically, parents can choose from public, charter, or private schools. With the Ohio Ed Choice Scholarship Program, parents now have the means to choose a private school that perhaps before they could not afford.
Currently, the Ohio Ed Choice Scholarship amount is $4,250 for K-8 students, and $5,000 for 9-12 students or the private school’s actual tuition amount, whichever is lower.
If the private school’s tuition is higher than the Ed Choice scholarship amount and if the student’s family income is above 200 % of the federal poverty guidelines, the family may have to pay the difference or participate in volunteer service activities in lieu of cash payment.
